Projects or groups that require guaranteed computational resources beyond those available on a free at the point of access 'fairshare' basis can include the costs of resources in their grant proposals or other local budgets.
This may be the cost of an entire compute node that that can be integrated into the Artemis platform and to which members of the project/group will be given preferential access, or the costs of resources - Compute Units - within the general resource pool that are reserved for the project/group. Several node specifications are available, suited to different workloads.
PI's should contact the ITS Research Team to discuss their requirements at least six weeks before any submission deadline in order to allow time for sufficient consultation and sourcing of up-to-date pricing.
As at March 2026, sector demand and wider market conditions mean that there is currently a very high level of price volatility and any quotations previously supplied should be disregarded and new advice sought.
A new service framework for medium and long term storage of research data is under development and details will be provided here as soon as they are available.
